Meet the Healer

Having emerged from my own personal journey and public service orientation, my work as an artist, art therapist and yoga teacher is highly attuned to mental health and community development. I became fascinated with the psychology of group process, particularly at the intersection of creativity and nature, after facilitating numerous group-created public environmental sculpture projects early in my career.  In 2009 I completed my Master’s Degree in Expressive Art Therapy from Prescott College, where I studied under art therapy pioneers including Pat Allen, Bruce Moon, and Sean McNiff.  I hold credentials from the Art Therapy Credentials Board, National Board of Certified Counselors, and certification from the International Yoga Alliance. My Story

This might surprise you…

For the first part of my career, I was a jewelry designer and environmental sculptor. I won numerous awards, received international press, and was even called a visionary and a pioneer. While my career was exciting, underneath that success I was not at all happy. In terms of emotional wealth, I was poor.

Do you experience overwhelm, chronic stress, or fear?

I did, for the longest time. Even though my work received accolades, I personally struggled with low self-worth…and excruciating anxiety.

On top of all that, I felt I had a desire to share “something” with the world…so much, that it hurt. I flipped between not knowing my purpose and not feeling worthy of it.

My outer world certainly did not match up with my inner world. Outside, I was a success. Inside, I was a mess!

I Turned My Mess into My Mission

After a series of art/yoga adventures and one major health issue, I realized: life is just too short to be held back by limiting beliefs, false personal narratives, and toxic people. Also, achievement doesn’t matter much if you’re not happy with yourself, or not healthy enough to celebrate your successes.

I faced my shadow and decided to re-route my career and my lifestyle in the pursuit of greater self-acceptance, physical and emotional wellness, and the courage to eventually share my story and my methods with those who would benefit. I ROSE above my obstacles, and Jodi Rose Studio was born!

Today, this business reflects my trust in the processes of art therapy and yoga—and my joy in using the techniques—but my methods are supported by much more than that. These offerings are based on a growing body of research in the fields of yoga, neuroscience, positive psychology and art therapy. Further, they are based on the knowledge and experience acquired through completing a dual Master’s degree, three national credentials, and thousands of hours of direct client contact time.
